An 11 year-old boy died after losing control of a tractor he was driving on Route DD Saturday evening.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Lane Holem was driving a 1954 John Deere tractor down a steep hill when he lost control and left the right side of the road. The tractor travelled through a ditch and up an embankment. Holem was ejected from the vehicle and then struck by it.

Holem was pronounced dead on the scene. This is Troop F’s first fatality of the month, and number 53 for the year.
