Officials with the St. Helena Parish Sheriff’s Office say a 17-year-old male from Amite was killed after a tractor rolled off of a bridge on top of him.

Deputies say Zachary R. Henry was cutting grass on a relative’s property near the 6800 block of Hwy. 43 south of Greensburg, La. Tuesday.

Henry drove over a narrow, wooden bridge when he got too close to the side of the bridge, causing the planks to break, and the tractor to roll off of the bridge into the canal. The tractor rolled on top of Henry.

Officials say he was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.
