A 5-year-old boy was run over and killed by a skid loader on a farm in Sadsbury Township Tuesday evening, police said.

He was the ninth child killed on Lancaster County farms in the last five years, newspaper records show.

Emergency personnel were called to the Blank farm at 194 Brick Mill Road shortly before 6:30 p.m.

Lancaster County Coroner Dr. Stephen Diamantoni said the boy died of multiple traumatic injuries and Deputy Coroner Eric Bieber pronounced him dead at the scene.

The coroner identified the boy as Marlin Wayne Blank.

The boy was accidentally run over by the piece of farm equipment, state police Trooper Ryan Jaxheimer said, but he provided no further details. Diamantoni said a family member was operating the skid loader and the accident was discovered immediately.

The boy lived at the farm, the coroner said.
