A 4-year-old boy died after falling off an all-terrain vehicle Monday, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

Several agencies responded to the town of Fort Winnebago outside of Portage after being notified of the accident around 8 p.m., Sheriff Dennis Richards said in the statement. Two children were riding on an ATV when the boy fell off and was run over by a trailer being towed by the vehicle, Richards said.
