A 2-year-old Penn Yan boy was listed in satisfactory condition early Saturday evening after a farm accident on Welker Road.

According to Yates County sheriff’s deputies, the boy and his 4-year-old brother were at a barn with their father shortly after 9 a.m. Saturday.

 The 2-year-old climbed onto an operating feed conveyor and became pinched in the machinery, deputies said.

The father was able to rescue the boy, deputies said.

Penn Yan ambulance and firefighters responded to the scene, where the boy was flown by helicopter to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of a head injury.

The boy’s brother was not hurt, deputies said.

The boy was listed in satisfactory condition Saturday at Strong Memorial Hospital.
